DEVICE THAT GENERATES ELECTRICITY WHILE WALKING

A BRITSH RESEARCHER J.MAXWELL DONELAN AND A PREFESSOR OF KINESIOLOGY at simon fraser university in british coloumbia have produced a device which can harness power from part of the stride by using a simple knee brace with cyborg bling. The generator works such that it disengages at the beginning of the step and re-engages as the legs swings bavk from the stride.
one device on each leg can Produce about 5 Watts of electricity,Dr donelan said, that is enough to charge 10 cellphones.so one can charge cell phones without charges using this device easily.
The power generated could be stored in a battery. The device will be highly useful for soldiers, who carry 30 pounds of batteries to run their high tech gear for a 24-hour mission. this has been a great break through in bio-mechanics.the energy stored in body fat is the equivalent of a battery that weighs more than a ton.

The knee- mounted device weighs almost 3.3 pound and it is in current form.
other efforts to tap power include shoe-mounted devices, from the bouncing motion of the backpack etc
