OUR EYE WINK CAN CONTROL ELECTRONIC DEVICES

JAPANESE research at osaka university by kazuhiro taniguchi HAS SHOWN that a kome kami switch or the temple switch can control ipods, cellphones and may be other electronic devices using eye wink. This device is developed by Apple
The system consisting of a single-chip computer and a couple of infrared sensors, monitors movements of the temple and is so tiny that it can be built into the side of a pair of eyeglasses.for instance, closing both the eyes for one second starts an ipod, while blinking again stops the device.
crippled people can make use of such devices effectively, the system can serve as a "a third hand".
The system picks up signals when we close or open our eyes.one can use this any time. The beautiful part of the device is that temple switch can distinguish between the deliberate one-second wink and natural blinking.said the researsher.Programs can suitably written and modified for giving signals for one eye blinking and sucessive blinking activities.the switch can also be made to operate television sets ,air conditioners, room lighting and all other electronic devices, cellphones, wheel chairs, robots that are being used in every day life.
