Each team has a min bid value of 3.3mn and a max of 5mn.Jaipur has used up only 2.925 mn and are below the min. bid rate and have been penalized. They will have to pay the remaining amount to the IPL, who will use the money to reimburse players whose names were withdrawn.

In the auction, there creeped in many surprises.
Dhoni 6cr
Ishant for a whoppin 3.8 cr. tat too for a player who has jus played one series.
Symonds for 5.6million.[Monkey effect i guess]
Ponting for a meagre 1.6 cr
Another big surprise was Mike Hussey[Mr.Cricket] whos known to be the best finisher went for only 1.4 cr whereas his brother who has never played in the internation arena went for 2.7 crores.
It was a jackpot for many indian players namely robin, rohit, kartik,I&Y Pathan,Parthiv etc etc.

Now all said and done , the main question is , Will the IPL live upto the expectations? Well we'll have to wait for another couple of months to get the answer for the question.
