THE german celebrity cruises turns up the heat by collaborating with new work's corning museum of glass to bring the hot art of glassblowing to sea. The museum's patent hot glass show,which provides live demos and a narrated performances about the history and science of glassblowing,will debut on december 2008.with live glassmaking demos ranking as a major draw of 3,40,000 people visiting the museum next year.
this collaboration allows the museum to expand our outreach across the world,says marie mckee,president of the museum.
on the ship's upper deck,within a custom designed,out-door glass making studio,the hot glass show will chronicle the history and artistry of glassblowing.the 20 minute glass show is presented at the museum 7 days a week through out the day.There, on a floating stage,the master glass makers take gobs of molten glass and turn them into gorgeous bowls,vases and more.cameras inside the 2300 F furnace ensures that you dont miss anything. sail in the celebrity for a hot smoking experience.
